The school was built in 1921-22. It was a One-Teacher type school. The funds to build the school were contributed as follows:

Negroes - $1,000.00
Public - $450.00
Rosenwald School Fund $500.00

The total cost was $1,950.00.

It was heated by wood-burning stoves.  The stoves were too often the cause of fires that resulted in the destruction of schools.
